Another drawing from my carnival series. This is Jabber. He's a creepy creature that specializes in frightening people. Jabber is that thing hiding under the bed that makes the little children afraid to go to sleep at night. Hes oozing, twisting, shadow like body allows him to morph into any shape he desires, allowing him to find a form that will best terrify his victim. At first appears as a normal shadow, but the shadow moves and writhes and turns into something terrible. He can hide anywhere, under beds, in drawers, behind the coats in a closet, and can shrink down to the size of thimble, than quickly expand to fill the whole room. Jabber isnt content to simply frighten the kids he chooses to prey on, and has been the culprit behind many, many child disappearance. He is a true predator, the kind every parent fears and delights in the suffering of small children. Jabber has a special love for tormenting little girls, especially little blonde ones. No one really knows why, perhaps he has some sort of twisted Lolita complex. Hes horribly insane, barely comprehensible at the best of times, and completely unpredictable making him even more dangerous. Jacqueline is able to keep him trapped in a bottle, and while this may be effective, it is only a temporary solution as Jabber will quickly find a way to escape. The only true way to keep this monster at bay is to turn the lights on. He hates light as it causes him terrible pain, and is forced to hide in hidden crevices during the day. Luckily for everyone he seems to listen to Jacqueline and doesnt bother the carnival members (although he sure scares the hell out of them), but this doesnt stop him from sneaking of into the nearest town and finding a little girl to terrify.
And I know it's a dark shape on a dark background. It just wouldn't work on a bright colored or light one. Sorry. ^_^; Oh, and some of the swirly's were totally inspired by
I'm impressed by the detail and creepiness in some of her artwork.
